Welcome to Swindon Film Festival 2012

Our ten-day Festival, running from 1st to 10th March, brings you a wide-ranging mix of films and related events in and around the town. There are films to fascinate you, to excite you, to make you think, to make you wonder. Some were made very near to home, and some in faraway places; many will make you laugh, a few perhaps will make you cry….

The programme includes some of the best recent British and international independent films (many already prize-winners or now up for BAFTAs and Oscars) as well some less well-known titles from new and upcoming directors.

Led by Swindon Film Society, this year’s Festival is once again brought to you by an exciting partnership of organisations and individuals, and is generously supported by Creative England and Forward Swindon. We’re delighted to be working with Artsite for the first time this year, and look forward to showing films at The Post Modern – an interesting new film venue!

Enjoy the films!

Although Swindon Film Society only started to organise the Swindon film festivals in 2010, there have been other film festivals in recent years. We learned recently that the first Swindon Film Festival took place in 1950 - three years after the film society was founded!
